Alfama Chic is a Franco-Portuguese brand of artisan vintage lighting, founded in 2022 in Lisbon by Catarina and Benjamin. The brand creates table lamps, pendant lights and portable lamps handcrafted in its Lisbon workshop, using sourced or reissued glass globes made using traditional craft techniques. Each light fixture is assembled with sustainable materials such as Estremoz marble, Lioz stone and upcycled brass.
All Alfama Chic lamps are designed and assembled by hand in our workshop in Lisbon, Portugal. The materials — glass globes, Estremoz marble, Lioz stone and brass — are sourced locally from artisans and Portuguese partners who share the same eco-responsible commitments.
No. Alfama Chic sells exclusively online via alfamachic.com. We have a workshop in Lisbon but it is not open to public visits.

A sourced globe is an original antique piece, found at Portuguese markets or flea markets (such as the Feira da Ladra in Lisbon), cleaned and restored. It is a unique piece. A reissued globe is made to order by Portuguese artisan glassmakers, faithfully inspired by antique shapes and techniques. Both types guarantee an authentic character and quality craftsmanship.
Our antique globes come exclusively from Portugal, mainly from the Marinha Grande region, a historic centre of glassmaking.
They are produced by Portuguese glassworks that uphold traditional craftsmanship. Period shapes are reproduced in small batches by artisan glassmakers.

Yes. Eco-responsibility is at the heart of our approach. Alfama Chic favours recycling (sourced globes), local artisan reissuing rather than industrial production, sustainable materials (locally quarried marble, upcycled brass) and Portuguese partners committed to the same environmental values.
It involves giving new life to antique glassware, without producing new glass. It is an aesthetic and responsible approach that preserves already existing materials.

Some globes are no longer manufactured. We therefore have them reissued by Portuguese artisans, using traditional techniques, to preserve this glassmaking heritage.

If your order has not yet been shipped, contact us quickly and we will do our best to make the necessary changes. Custom orders cannot be cancelled once manufacturing has begun (see T&Cs).
Contact us as soon as possible. Once your light fixture is being assembled or has been shipped, it is no longer possible to modify the order.

We take particular care with packaging: reinforced protection, multiple cushioning and adapted boxes to ensure safe delivery.
