This white opaline glass tulip was discovered at an antique dealer in the Campo de Ourique district of Lisbon — one of those quiet neighbourhoods where beautiful pieces still hide in the back of shops. Its frilled and wavy edges, of an almost otherworldly lightness, bear witness to a rare glassmaking craft where each piece left the mould with its own personality.
Back in our Lisbon workshop, we mounted it onto a cylindrical marble base and connected it with a gold brass ring. And so Hortense was born — the most floral and organic vintage table lamp in our collection, ready to bring softness and femininity to your interior.
Good to know: our glass shades are either sourced or faithfully re-edited. For sourced pieces, slight imperfections or marks may sometimes be visible — small chips or minor irregularities. These are part of the history and authenticity of each piece, and are of course mentioned in the description.
Hortense comes with a marble base of your choice from three options, at no extra cost: plain white marble, white with beige veins or white with grey veins. Each base is unique — the marble veining varies slightly from piece to piece. Select your marble directly on the product page before adding to cart.
You also choose your mount type: standard gold brass ring, or adjustable tilt mount to set the tulip at the angle you prefer — at the same price. Select your option directly on the product page.

This lamp pairs a mouth-blown white opaline glass tulip globe with ruffled edges with a brushed brass base. Entirely handmade in Lisbon from artisan glass and solid brushed brass.
Wipe the glass with a slightly damp cloth. Polish the brushed brass base or fitting with a soft dry cloth — avoid abrasive or chemical products that could alter its patina.
