This mould-pressed glass globe was discovered one sunny morning at a flea market in the Alfama district — Lisbon’s oldest neighbourhood. Resting between two forgotten objects, it was waiting — its tall stylised palm leaves and diamond point frieze bearing witness to a time when everyday objects were crafted with care and poetry.
Back in our Lisbon workshop, we mounted it onto an ornate antique gold brass claw mount and dressed it in a silver twisted cord. And so Louise was born — a delicate and luminous hand lamp, whose foliage patterns only fully reveal themselves in the light.
The Louise hand lamp can be gently placed on a bedside table, a chest of drawers or a side table. When lit, its stylised palm leaves are revealed by transparency and diffuse a soft, warm light — a natural and soothing atmosphere, perfect for a reading nook or a bedroom.
