If you wish to commission a lamp with a detailed specification, a feasibility study will be carried out and we reserve the right to decline depending on technical viability and the approval of a specific quotation.

How to customise a bespoke luminaire?

Each luminaire is conceived as an original piece. You first choose the desired lamp. Each lamp has a name. You indicate the name in the field provided and then select:

  • the type of luminaire (suspension, pendant, table lamp…),
  • the cable length adapted to your space,
  • the textile cable from more than 10 colours and textures,
  • the choice of ceiling roses in the case of suspensions,
  • the choice of switches and plugs,
  • the choice of bulb type (warm or cool light, dimmable or not),

What types of bespoke luminaires exist?

Elegant suspension, wall light, discreet ceiling lamp or original lighting: bespoke lighting allows you to create variations of a range or a collection adapted to each space. Only chandeliers and floor lamps are not currently offered.
At Alfama Chic, we adapt our vintage lamps for projects as varied as a tiny house, a contemporary apartment or a manor house.

Where to buy bespoke luminaires?

Our handcrafted luminaires are available exclusively on our online shop, the Alfama Chic e-boutique.

These luminaires are available within 24 to 48 hours in France (Paris, Lyon, Marseille, Toulouse, or Lille) and 72 hours for the rest of France and Portugal initially. See our Terms and Conditions.

The rest of Europe will be available later. You may also find some of our products in selected shops in Lisbon, mainly for our professional clients. The creator or designer remains at your disposal if you wish to request specific modifications. You benefit from personalised support: from design selection to made-to-order manufacturing, each project is followed by our workshop in Portugal.

How does bespoke luminaire manufacturing work?

Our artisanal manufacturing process is based on several stages:

  1. Design and choice of materials, followed by the assembly of each suspension, pendant, or table lamp.
  2. Depending on your technical constraints, we integrate your wishes into the assembly (wiring, finishes, mounting) of your luminaires.
  3. Quality control to ensure safety and durability.
  4. Made-to-order production and direct delivery from our workshop.

What materials are used for bespoke luminaires?

We work only with noble and durable materials:

  • Glass (cut, opaline, coloured),
  • Brass for bases and fittings,
  • Portuguese marble for bases,
  • Textile-covered electrical cables in cotton, linen, twisted or round,
  • Eco-responsible finishes and a choice of marble or cable colours.

How to maintain a bespoke luminaire?

A luminaire can last over time with a few simple care tips:

  • Regular dusting with a soft cloth is the basic maintenance,
  • Gentle cleaning of glass, brass, or marble bases,
  • Checking the correct functioning of the wiring,
  • Personalised advice provided with your order.
